GSGemini Spark setup guide

What you need (Google's list):

• Age 18 or over.
• A personal Google account.
• Google AI Pro or Ultra.
• Keep Activity turned on.
• Opted in to Personal Intelligence.
• To be outside the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Nigeria.

Step-by-step setup:

1. Open Gemini at gemini.google.com, in the mobile app, or in the Mac app.
2. Click Task below the text box (older versions called this Spark). Follow the on-screen steps to turn on task mode.
3. Connect apps. Turn on the Google apps you want it to use, like Gmail, Calendar, and Drive. Start with only these three.
4. Let it interview you. Type "set up," "get started," or "interview me" in a task. Gemini helps you create your first skills and tasks.
5. Run a read-only task. For example: "What's on my calendar this week?"
6. Add your first schedule once the read-only task looks right.
7. On a Mac (optional): add only the folders you want it to see under Connected folders → Add Mac folder.

First-run checklist:

• ☐ I connected only Gmail, Calendar, and Drive to start.
• ☐ I didn't add any Mac folders with files I can't afford to lose.
• ☐ My first task was read-only.
• ☐ I know where Task settings is (it used to be "Gemini Spark Settings").
• ☐ I know how to pause a schedule from the Scheduled page.
• ☐ I never type passwords or card numbers in the task thread.
