Safety — approvals, payments, and off-limits
Part of the Claude Duet beginner track · Anthropic.
What Duet can do alone (per Anthropic): read, draft, and prepare.
What needs your approval: send a message, make a payment, sign, or delete.
Off-limits even with approval:
- Trading securities
- Moving money between accounts
Extra guardrail: a classifier that rejects sharing credit-card numbers and government ID by default.
Payments: Purchases can go through Stripe Link and Shop Pay. Treat every payment approval like a real checkout.
Connectors: Marketplace access is powerful. Every connector is something Duet can see. Remove ones you stop using.
Browser caveat: Anthropic says Duet cannot yet show you its browser. You approve based on what it reports — so start with low-risk tasks.
Weekly check:
- Which connectors are still on?
- What did it send or pay last week?
- Am I near my Claude usage limit? (Background work counts.)
