Claude Duet setup guide for beginners

What you need:

• A Claude Pro or Max account
• To be in the United States (research preview)
• A spot on the waitlist when Anthropic opens access
• The Duet iOS or Android app, or Duet on claude.ai

Step-by-step setup:

1. Confirm your plan. Free Claude does not include Duet. Upgrade to Pro or Max if you want the waitlist.
2. Join the waitlist from Anthropic's Duet page or in-product prompt when shown.
3. Install the Duet app (or open Duet on claude.ai) when you get access. It is separate from the main Claude app for now.
4. Connect two apps only for week one (for example Gmail + Calendar, or Slack + Gmail).
5. Carry-over: If you already use Claude memory, skills, or connectors, check what Duet reused.
6. Run a read-only first task (morning brief with "don't send or change anything").

First-run checklist:

• ☐ I opened Duet (not only regular Claude chat)
• ☐ I connected only the apps I need this week
• ☐ My first task was read-only
